PRESENTACIÓN

ESTRATEGIA SOSTENIBLE

The Territory

GALP Sustainable Coast´s territory is located on the northwest coastline of Galicia, facing the Atlantic Ocean; it includes two main areas: Muros-Noia Estuary and a good part of the Morte coast.

It´s a beautiful coastline territory that has a lot of protected areas and community interest sites, such as Monte Louro, Monte Pindo or Estuario of Tambre; There are really attractive scenarios incorporated to them, such as Cape Fisterra, the ancient end of the world of Romans, a good number of excellent sands and also towns with extraordinary historical center, like Muros and Noia.

This territory reveals a big dependence on the fishing sector of 45%, although it´s necessary to point out the huge importance of tourism. To agree both priority sectors, maintaining the sustainability of the territory, is our main objective; That´s why the valuation of our projects bets specifically on the responsibility with the landscape, taking into account that the coast is an ecosystem with a delicate balance, and on the responsibility with people, looking for a positive impact on the local population.

It includes the town halls of Fisterra, Cee, Corcubión, Dumbría, Carnota, Muros, Outes, Noia and Porto of Son; occupying a total territory of 593,4 Km2, with a population of 62.000 habitants.
